VPN - Security Kiss Free Edition: 300 MB per Day

Security Kiss has been around awhile. I've used their Free edition on and off since 2009. Kiss Free edition is good for a short browse, but the longer you stay online, the more you risk the secure line being "dropped", and your data exposed.

That said, I tried their paid version a couple of years ago, and when the month was over, I went back to Free. I didn't see much difference in the quality. The only real difference was the quantity of country IPs available.

And, although there is a bigger variety of IP's available in the paid Kiss, they don't necessarily all work, any more than the free IP's necessarily all work at any particular time.

In the Free or Paid editions, you have to keep switching from one to another IP in their list to find one that is working. If an IP isn't working, you simply can't surf it.

Essentially, with paid or free Kiss, you have to keep switching around to find an IP that works.

I think the basic distinction between the Free and Paid Kiss editions (other than MegaBytes of surfing allowed) is that in the Free edition, even if you are under your 300 MB limit, it will let your line drop if the IP you are using becomes unavailable. In other words, if the IP you are using goes offline, your protection is gone.

I have noticed that in paid Kiss, the line seems to hang on.

If you use your whole Free 300 MB in a given 24 hours, Kiss will tend to secure your line at the end, and flash a notice that your time is up, and offer to sell you something.

This week, Kiss put me onto their Premium Jaedite plan for free, pending a sale of their Basic service.  I tried Jaedite's two Canadian IPs, each one on two ports, so basically, two Canadian IPs x two ports = 4 Canadian IPs in total. However, neither Canadian IP worked on either port. I then tried Denver (USA), two ports, again nothing. I didn't keep trying, I went back to the Free edition and switched IPs till I got one working.

If you need a general VPN to secure your traffic, and you don't care what country the IP is from as long as it works, Kiss is either Free or Cheap.  If you need a specific country IP, such as Canada (occasionally offered in Free Kiss), it may not be working, even in the paid edition. So, paying for Kiss won't guarantee you a specific country IP.

However, as a good general free VPN for a short browse, Kiss is okay.

Set up Kiss by turning off whatever VPN or IP you are currently using, then download & instal their file (under 3 MB).

An added feature, they recently began to accept Bitcoin, which will enhance your privacy as with Bitcoin, you don't need to self-identify when purchasing Kiss, unlike other methods including credit card and PayPal.
